TRYLRUN — PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Trylrun collects, how we use it, with whom we share it, and your choices. By using the Service you accept the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to personal information collected via Trylrun’s website, applications, and services. Capitalized terms have meanings used in the Terms of Service.

2. What we collect

Information you provide: name, email, phone, school, degree/program, resumes, cover letters, transcripts (if you upload them), interview recordings, profile data, employer business information, billing details (via third-party processors), and support communications.

Information we collect automatically: IP address, device information, browser, pages viewed, clicks, session logs, cookies, and analytics data.

Information from third parties / University Partners: verification data (enrollment confirmation, CPT/CPT authorization), background-check results where authorized, and public sources.

3. How we use personal information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide and improve the Service and the matching experience.

  • Process applications, offers, and onboarding.

  • Verify eligibility (enrollment, work authorization) when required.

  • Communicate with Users about accounts, offers, program updates, and support.

  • Detect and prevent fraud and abuse.

  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to requests from law enforcement or courts.

  • Create anonymized, aggregate reports for internal use or for University Partners (no personal identification).

4. Who we share information with

  • Employers: Student profiles, resumes, and interview recordings are shared with Employers to whom the Student applies or consents.

  • University Partners: We share enrollment and program participation information with University Partners only when necessary to support credit-bearing programs and as authorized by the University.

  • Service providers: Hosting, payment processing, analytics, email, and e-signature providers process data on our behalf under contract.

  • Legal requests & safety: We may disclose personal information to comply with law, to protect rights, or to respond to legal process.

  • Business transfers: In a merger or sale, data may be transferred consistent with legal requirements.

We do not sell personal information as defined by the California privacy laws.

5. FERPA and University Partner data

When University Partners provide education records or enrollment confirmation, Trylrun will treat those records consistent with FERPA and with the Partner’s instructions. Such records are used only for program administration and not shared beyond authorized recipients without consent or legal requirement.

6. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, secure sessions, and improve user experience. We present a cookie banner for non-essential cookies (analytics and marketing) and allow users to manage preferences. Disabling cookies may reduce features.

7. Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect personal information. No system is fully secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security incident occurs, we will follow applicable breach-notification laws and notify affected users as required.

8. Data retention and deletion

We retain personal information as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Examples:

  • Application materials and profiles: retained as long as account is active and as needed to provide the Service (we generally retain application materials for a period after last activity).

  • Billing records: retained as required for tax and accounting purposes.

  • Audit logs and assent records: retained for at least three (3) years.

If you want to delete your account, contact support@trylrun.com. We will attempt to remove your personal data, subject to legal or contractual retention requirements.

9. Your choices and rights

  • Marketing emails: You may opt out via unsubscribe links. Service-related messages cannot be opted out of.

  • Access, correction, deletion: California residents and others may submit requests to know, correct, or delete personal information at support@trylrun.com. We will verify identity and respond in a timely manner consistent with applicable law.

  • Do not track: Our systems do not currently honor browser “Do Not Track” signals.

10. International transfers

Trylrun is based in the United States and personal information may be stored and processed in the U.S. or other countries. By using the Service you consent to transfers consistent with this Policy.

11. Children

The Service is intended for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided information, we will delete it.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be posted with a new Effective Date and, where required, we will notify account holders.
